Standing desks are becoming more and more popular both in the workplace and at home and there are plenty of good reasons for it. Standing desks allow office workers to be on their feet throughout the day rather than be in their chairs. Harvard University has linked long periods of sitting to:
- cardiovascular disease
- cancer (especially cancers of the colon or breast)
Standing desks are assumed to help combat the negative effects of sitting for long periods of time. Several studies have suggested that standing for at least a portion of your workday may help reduce back pain, which a reported 20% of Australians suffer from.
The majority of standing desks come in two forms:
- A tall desk
- Motorised height adjusting desks
Whilst both of these options work, a tall desk lacks adjustability and motorised desks are rather expensive. That is why we designed The Table Chop, an adjustable extension that works in conjunction with any existing desk.
The Table Chop is easily assembled and disassembled with no tools required, allowing for easy storage when space is needed.
